The database on irregular migration was launched in February 2009. It  was created in the context of the CLANDESTINO project "Undocumented Migration: Counting the Uncountable ? Data and Trends across Europe". The project was funded for the period September 2007 - August 2009 Sixth Framework Programme (Directorate General for Research of the European Commission) and hosted by the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) until 2010. From 2011, the database is institutionally independent and updated occasionally by a voluntary team.

Are you interested in more recent or more extensive information on the size, development and patterns of irregular migration? Consider to sponsor an update report, working paper or country profile, or inquire about the possibilities to become an institutional funder.
